So, it is very easy to get discouraged. Most people, when I tell them that I am going to be a missionary in El Salvador are supportive (and maybe a bit skeptical). A few people, even in my own family, just do NOT want me to go. It is hard to stay positive and focus when negativity presents itself often. This week, though, I got some GREAT confirmation. I had a tough conversation with a loved one about my trip, and walked away a little feeling dejected. I was driving home, and remember that 2 people had handed me a check (they were unable to come to a fundraiser they thought they could attend) and one friend of the family sent an envelope. I pulled over, thanked God for the support that He keeps sending, and counted my donations. I felt so blessed and comforted. It was a lesson to focus on people who support me, rather than people who do not. I opened a second checking account this week. I think this is probably the best way to keep my personal finances separate from my missionary finances. It is also VERY exciting to watch the total slowly grow towards my goal! As soon as the new debit card arrives for my new account, I AM BUYING my plane tickets. Kimberly will depart in April to serve in El Salvador with Sus Hijos Ministry.
