Montes, Danny and Gelmarie - El Salvador
Danny and Gelmarie, originally from Puerto Rico, served in El Salvador for almost 18 years (Sept 2001-June 2019). Their daughter, Katya Lissbeth, born in El Salvador, also serves with them in ministry. They have an alliance with Ministerio Internacional Ciudad Cristiana (MICC) to better serve their Salvadoran brothers and sisters.
The Montes family is currently in Puerto Rico, taking a furlough and preparing to return to the mission field in 2021 or 2022.
Their ministry is illustrated by the five spokes of a wheel representing the following areas:
- Evangelism - reaching out to non-believers and those who have strayed from the faith.
- Discipleship - Bible study, couple's ministry, Girls Club , children and youth ministry, and one-on-one mentoring.
- Congregational Life - Weekly worship, prayer services and home meetings.
- Community Outreach - Reaching the communities through food and clothes distribution, music, English and literacy classes, back-to-school supplies and monthly school scholarships.
- Equipping and Sending - raising and training leaders.
