Knepper Family - El Salvador
David and Kathy have served as missionaries in El Salvador since January 2007, seeking to obediently follow the Lord as He leads them. They planted a church in El Salvador's second largest city, and have been involved in community and humanitarian relief throughout El Salvador. They have partnered with other non-profit organizations to bring the Gospel and hope to families affected by disability; as well as those in poverty and in the prison or orphanage system in the country.
After 14 years in the field, the Kneppers are temporarily back stateside. They are juggling self-care, continual humanitarian aid and Bible Studies for their existing ministry in El Salvador and the launch of their website to provide Bible Studies in Spanish and English.
The primary reason for their return is their hope to raise funds for a new project the Lord has set before them, The Houses of Grace. This project consists of 3 homes for vulnerable women in El Salvador. Starting with a home for young widows of violence - our hope is to provide schooling, housing, counseling and Bible Studies for these women to be able to learn a trade and provide support as they begin to work on what they've learned until they can stand on their own 2 feet and support their family. We do this in hopes of preventing women who are in a particularly vulnerable place from being taken advantage of themselves as well as their children by predators who would use and abuse them. The second home is a special place for woman who want to leave the sex-trade, it would be a program that would begin after they leave the rehab center and would consist of deep counseling and education as well as support so they can leave their lifestyle and support themselves seeking to draw them near to the Lord who loves all. The third is a place for battered women to obtain counseling and protection from their abusers. El Salvador is unfortunately one of the top places in Central America where women are killed by their partners, - we are going to fight to change this.
As always, we are seeking the Lord for His grace and support in all that He has set before us to do. If you would like to financially support the Knepper family and their ministry in El Salvador, please click the donate button below. Or you may send a check or money order to:
