Makenna McLemore - Missionary Midwife to the Nations
God has irreversibly captivated my heart for midwifery in missions by revealing His love for the 'least of these', the most vulnerable, the widows and orphans of the global maternal healthcare crisis. After serving on many clinical outreaches and pursuing training as a birth worker, I now staff full-time with LifeBearers, a maternal healthcare ministry through Youth with a Mission.
The local impact of our ministry is expressed through the LIV Pregnancy and Women's Wellness Center that offers free healthcare services to families in the community. I serve by meeting clients in appointments, teaching childbirth education, and supporting births as a doula and student midwife!
We express our ministry globally by training and sending teams of maternal healthcare workers to the nations to pioneer pregnancy centers, bring healthcare education, train local people, and ultimately walk with families as we believe for their restoration. I serve by training students and leading outreaches to birth centers and hospitals in developing countries! This warms my heart because my whole journey started with a dream from the Lord of birth centers all over the world!!
