March 2022 Update | Marek & Marysia Kiewra

3/28/2022

Pastor Marek & Marysia Kiewra
We are so happy that this year, after three years of not traveling to the States, we had the opportunity to come to the States and visit churches and share all that God is doing through our ministry in Poland. We were longing for this day. As I am writing this newsletter, we are in a new situation in Poland, Europe, and worldwide. Less than one month ago, Ukraine was invaded by Russian Soldiers. We thought it would be over by now. We had 2.2 million refugees who came to Poland in 26 days. We open our hearts and homes to receive the refugees. As a church, we were the first in our area to receive them, and most of them were mothers with children and children from a Christian orphanage. We have 26 that we feed, cloth, and provide all kinds of assistance. Praise God that many of us speak Russian so we can communicate with them and help them with local governments, doctors, and schools. I was thinking about the vision our Lord gave me twice about a tsunami that would come to our church. I see it happening in our country and our church. Let me share just a few stories of these mothers and children.

1. One of the first that we received was a mother and two children. Five months old and five years old. She was escaping from Kyiv and came by train not far from our border. Then she walked about 15 miles in the night in freezing weather to avoid shooting. It was a miracle as she prayed, "Lord, please let my little five month old baby sleep all the time." For 12 hours this baby did not cry and slept all the time. It never happened. God sent His angel to protect them. They came to the border with one small bag. It was all their lives. They came to stay with us. As we asked her, "do you need anything?" She responded, "no thank you, I have everything what I need." Looking at her bag. So humble.

2. We have 2 Christian sisters with 14 orphans staying with us. Those children came without anything and were very scared. It took one week for them to see that the place they were staying at was safe. After two weeks, we helped them go to our schools, and they were very warmly accepted by the children and the teachers from our town.

What a great witness our church is to the whole community. When they heard about our help for these children, people who never were in our church called us and asked how they could help. They brought food, clothing, personal hygiene products, medicine, and more. We thank God that we can shine with Jesus' love in our community. This will be a long-term commitment to take care of these refugees.

3. In my last letter, I wrote about a Catholic priest who got saved and baptized with the Holy Spirit, and I baptized him with water. What a testimony! He cam to our church and has stayed. He is so full of love to reach others for the Lord.

We need a van to help us transport refugees from Ukraine. If you would like to help us buy a van and meet this need, please click "donate" below and select "van."
Thank you for all of your prayers and support.

Love, Marek & Marysia
