TURKEY
Turkey, officially the Republic of Türkiye, is mostly in Western Asia with a small part in Southeastern Europe. It borders the Black Sea, Aegean Sea, Mediterranean Sea, and several countries including Greece, Bulgaria, Iran, and Syria. The population of over 85 million is mostly ethnic Turks, and while the nation is officially secular, Islam is the dominant religion. Ankara is the capital, and Istanbul is the largest city and economic center. With many unreached people groups, Turkey is a challenging and important mission field where prayer, discipleship, and culturally sensitive outreach are vital.
