KAZAKHSTAN
Kazakhstan is the world’s largest landlocked country, located in Central Asia and extending into Eastern Europe. It borders Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, and stretches along the eastern shores of the Caspian Sea. Known for its vast steppes, deserts, and mountain regions, Kazakhstan spans nearly 1,800 miles from west to east, connecting cultures shaped by both Asian and European influences. The capital city is Astana, while Almaty serves as the country’s largest cultural and economic center.
Kazakhstan is home to about 20 million people, spread across vast distances and representing diverse ethnic groups, languages, and religious traditions within a predominantly Muslim-majority society. Christianity is legally practiced but remains a small presence, highlighting opportunities to encourage believers, strengthen local churches, and engage communities with the hope of the Gospel.
