Julia McPeak - Ethiopia
Julia is serving alongside and training/educating the local staff and mothers of upcoming forever family homes at Selamta Family Project regarding how to care for children with special needs that will be taken out of the government orphanages and placed into their homes. She helps the staff and families determine what resources these children need to thrive and work with local and overseas ministries to provide these resources.
As well, Julia, provides pro bono physical therapy services to the community that Selamta Family Project serves as well as for the children with special needs at the government orphanages and other private orphanages in Addis Ababa.
All of Julia's practical work is performed from the intention and heart of the gospel. She strongly feels that children and adults with special needs are an unreached people group due to the lack of understanding about the potential they have to learn and understand. She uses her practical work to build relationships with the caregivers and children/adults with special needs and uses that as a door to show the love of Christ and share the gospel. She is working alongside CEF to help them develop Good News Clubs that are inclusive of children with special needs.
